September 11, 2014 * Agriculture and Forestry [to May 2015]A delegation of agri-processors from Taiwan is visiting Prince Edward Island this week to strengthen relationships with local agricultural producers, says Minister of Agriculture and Forestry George Webster.“Prince Edward Island has a great capacity to deliver high quality raw agricultural products to markets around the world,” said Minister Webster. “This is a great opportunity for our local producers to expand their business potential and develop new markets in Taiwan.”A total of 19 processing companies from Taiwan will be visiting Prince Edward Island this week. The companies will be visiting with local berry, soybean and grain producers and will have the opportunity to discuss market opportunities and future business partnerships. “The Province of Prince Edward Island will continue to support and enhance the development of business relationships for our Island producers and create opportunities for agri-business and farmers on Prince Edward Island,” said Minister of Agriculture and Forestry George Webster. “This mission is part of our province’s ongoing efforts to stimulate economic growth, trade and international investment.”Media Contact: April Gallant
