The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission is helping to protect Island rivers

The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission is continuing its support of the Atlantic Salmon Conservation Foundation as it enters the third year of the annual Island Rivers – Worth Protecting campaign.

Participating suppliers sustain this effort by donating a portion of sales from select products to further habitat restoration projects across Prince Edward Island. Recent funding has maintained multi-phase projects in both Souris and Morell areas, as well as on the West River and Mill River.

“The PEI Liquor Control Commission is proud to partner with the Atlantic Salmon Conservation Foundation for the third consecutive year of this campaign,” said Robert Henderson, minister responsible for the PEI Liquor Control Commission. “The entire province benefits from the important work that is carried out through these projects.”

“We have been pleased with the success of this relationship to date and look forward to continued success this year as well, said Paul Michael, QC, a director of the Atlantic Salmon Conservation Foundation. “We are pleased to provide over $70,000 in support for conservation projects in Prince Edward Island through this partnership.”

In-store promotion of Island Rivers – Worth Protecting runs from October 2 through until November 13 in all 18 PEI Liquor Control Commission corporate retail outlets across the province.
