The PEI Liquor Control Commission has completed the third of its five-year commitment to the Atlantic Salmon Conservation Foundation, raising over $55,000 to date, in support of the Island Rivers Worth Protecting campaign. This initiative generates funds that will be used to support water conservation projects in Prince Edward Island.
“The commission is pleased to continue to its support of this program that benefits the Island’s natural resources” said Robert Henderson, minister responsible for the PEI Liquor Control Commission. “This year’s contribution of $21,600 sees the commission over half way toward its total goal of $100,000 for the life of the program.”
“These dollars will help to continue our work in Prince Edward Island,” said Paul Michael, Q.C., Director, Atlantic Salmon Conservation Foundation. “The foundation looks forward to working with community partners on their project submissions in the coming year.”
Funds generated through this program come from supplier donations resulting from the sale of participating products.
