The Heart and Stroke Foundation is sending a sincere thank you to the community for showing tremendous heart in an effort to give Canadians more time. In support of the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the PEI Liquor Control Commission raised $5,116 via its “Paper Hearts” promotion.
The promotion ran from February 1, 2012 to February 29, 2012. Customers were given the opportunity to purchase paper hearts for $2 a piece. The hearts were then displayed in-store to showcase the support.
“The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission is pleased to have been part of this initiative that supports people across our province,” noted Robert Henderson, Minister responsible for the PEI Liquor Control Commission. “This particular promotion for the Heart and Stroke Foundation was well received and I thank our customers for their support.”
“We are thrilled to have had the opportunity to work together with the Liquor Control Commission to help extend lives,” said Charlotte Comrie, CEO, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada/PEI. “Almost 70,000 Canadians die each year due to heart disease and stroke, and we are grateful for the tremendous support of our corporate partners, who play a critical role in our mission to help Canadians live longer, fuller lives.”
