Doug Currie, Minister of Justice and Public Safety, extends congratulations to Chief Miles Boulter, who has been chosen by the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC) as the Canadian Volunteer Fire Chief of the Year. “Since he began as a volunteer firefighter with the O’Leary Fire Department in 1972 and in his present role as Chief Instructor with the Prince Edward Island Firefighters Association, Chief Boulter has been dedicated to firefighting and enhancing safety for all Islanders,” Minister Currie said. “He can be credited with the growth of the PEI Fire School and for his continuing efforts to ensure the 1,000 volunteer firefighters in our One Island Community receive proper training in life saving skills.” Chief Boulter will receive a plaque of recognition at the closing banquet of the CAFC annual conference in Saint John, NB on September 22nd, and a monetary donation will be made in Chief Boulter's name to an organization of his choice.
