The rapid growth of PureSCM is evidence of the success of the provincial government’s initiatives in attracting new information technology businesses, says Allan Campbell, Minister of Innovation and Advanced Learning.
“Information Technology is one of the key sectors identified in the Island Prosperity Strategy and Prince Edward Island is very fortunate to have gained an established company like PureSCM,” said Minister Campbell. “It has hired four employees since its startup, proving that it is well on track to providing opportunities for highly skilled IT personnel to work on the Island.”
PureSCM is a consulting company in the IT service management industry (ITSM) and IT infrastructure management (ITIM) and provides solutions to clients across North America. It has developed core expertise in the implementation, education and management of CA solutions. It is based in British Columbia and launched a new company in Prince Edward Island earlier this year.
“We have established our Charlottetown office and have full-time staff in place. We are looking forward to additional growth in the near future and ongoing contributions to the local economy,” says Fern Brabant, managing director of PureSCM. “We have a strong team here and we are working hard to develop new software and deliver our services.”
The company took part in the labor rebate program delivered by the Department of Innovation and Advance Learning and Innovation PEI. It will receive funding based on the number of jobs it creates over the next two years. PureSCM has already hired four out of the five projected employees it needs to meet the requirements of the program and, due to the strong talent pool, it hopes to exceed that mark in the near future.
“We have worked with many government organizations in the past but none have been more cooperative and helpful as we have found here,” says Mr. Brabant. “We highly recommend businesses to consider the Island as a home base if they are looking for an energetic and enthusiastic organization that will work with them to help them be successful.”
PureSCM will host an open house on Friday, June 3, at its new office space on 59 Grafton Street, Charlottetown. Members of the Charlottetown business community are invited to attend between 2 and 6 p.m. to meet the staff and celebrate this occasion. For more information please visit www.purescm.com.
