Applications are now being accepted for the Ignition Fund, which offers up to $25,000 from Innovation PEI to launch or expand a business in Prince Edward Island.
“This is the third year in a row that Innovation PEI has offered the Ignition Fund, which supported 10 entrepreneurs from across the province in 2015,” Economic Development and Tourism Minister Heath MacDonald said. “This government continues to create opportunities to encourage entrepreneurship in our province such as the Ignition Fund, and I’m excited to see what new ideas our Island entrepreneurs propose this year.”
Qualifying applicants will be startup businesses or entrepreneurs who are committed to establishing and operating a new business in this province. The products or services must have the potential to be sold outside of Prince Edward Island.
“Through the valuable support of the Ignition Fund I was able to take my business concept from idea to implementation,” said mental performance consultant Tara Costello of Ahead in the Game, one of the 2015 Ignition Fund grant recipients.
The deadline for applications is July 29, 2016. To apply – or for more information on Innovation PEI and the Ignition Fund – visit www.innovationpei.com/ignition.
