Young Entrepreneur's Forum

Two young Islanders have launched a summer program to enhance university students’ entrepreneurial skills. Kristi Kelly and Billy Hennessey started the young entrepreneurs forum to help aspiring business students learn through real-life business experiences.

Weekly sessions will bring together 12 young, aspiring entrepreneurs and local business leaders. Each session will feature a business leader who will present a business situation they have encountered. The students will be given a chance to debate the situation and make a group recommendation to the business person. The business person will then reveal the decision that was actually made and the reasons behind it.

Kelly and Hennessey both feel the program could make a real difference. “We will bring together the best in Island business owners and the future generation of business leaders to engage in case-by-case discussion and interactive problem solving. Who could be better at passing on the educational and entrpreneurial experience to the upcoming generation of Island business innovators and owners?”

The Young Entrepreneurs program received assistance from Prince Edward Island Business Development, Inc.

The group also hopes to help the young business students expand their contacts by holding a business mixer. The program will run during the month of August. For more information, please contact Kristi Kelly at 629-0031 or Billy Hennessey at 393-2889.
