Islanders wanting an educational yet entertaining look at the Information Age should attend the Wired for the Future IT Fair from November 26-28 at the Prince Edward Hotel in Charlottetown. As part of IT Week, the three-day fair will give visitors and guests a chance to learn about the latest technologies, trends and issues in IT, while at the same time, providing great entertainment, fabulous food, and lots of fun and enjoyment for people of all ages.
Whether you are a computer "genius" or you consider yourself "IT challenged," there is something for everyone at the Wired for the Future IT Fair. People can register to attend a variety of workshops where they can learn how to use the Internet to: stay competitive in business; protect against computer viruses; prepare for the Year 2000; effectively market businesses; and use IT for finding employees and job opportunities, just to name a few.
Highlights of the fair include luncheon guest speakers Dave McLure, Executive Director of the Association of Online Professionals; and Louis H. Milrad, from the Information Technology Law Counsel, Lang Michener Barristers & Solicitors - Patent & Trademark Agents. Topping off the fair will be the "High-tech" and hilarious performance by the Drill Queens, PEI's favourite and most irreverent comedy troupe.
Registration for the workshops and luncheons is $25 for the three days, however, there is no charge to visit the exhibits put on by over 30 exhibitors.
