Western Hospital Emergency Department still open

The emergency department at Western Hospital is remaining open during renovations to primary care offices located in the facility. Lab, x-ray, and dialysis services are also fully operational during this time.

Community residents who require emergency services can go to the emergency department at Western Hospital 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The emergency department is attended by a physician from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. During the overnight hours, it operates as a Collaborative Emergency Centre with a team that includes paramedics with Advanced Life Support training and emergency nurses, as well as well as on-call oversight provided by an emergency department physician.
