This summer, visitors to PEI Superstores will be able to take home a taste of Prince Edward Island. The Charlottetown and Summerside Superstores are featuring a special PEI product display in two of their locations. The display features products from 13 PEI food and beverage processors. They include: Acadian Fishermen’s Co-op, Gail’s Country Pantry, Neen’s Island Preserves, Jasper Wyman, PEI Specialty Chip Company, Andrew’s Favourite Antipasto, OceanChoice, PEI Maple Syrup Company, Artisan’s Café, Wadell’s, Humpty Dumpty and Raspberry Cordial.
Larry Williams, Summerside store manager, says this is a great attraction for visitors. “Each summer we get a lot of visitor traffic through our store, and they are looking to try unique product which they can’t find in their own grocery stores. PEI products are a great draw and a great way to promote PEI product to the visitors during the busy summer months.”
Charlottetown store manager Shaun McGillivray says they are pleased to support PEI companies. “It’s not only a great attraction to off-Island visitors, but it is also a great opportunity for Islanders to buy Island-made product and support their local businesses. We have a lot of Islanders asking where they can buy Island-made products, and we are pleased to have such a big selection of PEI products available in our store.”
The PEI Product displays are now at both the Superstore in Summerside and Charlottetown on University Avenue.
