You may not know what the Uh Oh! Slime Tour is, but chances are if you are a pre-teen or the parent of one -- you do. Uh Oh! The Game Show airs six times a week on YTV and features three teams of two contestants engaging in all kinds of antics in pursuit of a grand prize. Contestants are generally between the ages of 11 and 14 and the show is coming to PEI next month.
To prepare for the August shoot, representatives of the popular pre-teen show will be in Charlottetown this Friday, July 17, to conduct an orientation session and audition potential contestants for the Uh Oh! Slime Tour. They will be looking for 200 Island children between the ages of 11 and 14 to appear in the PEI segments, either as contestants or in the audience. The orientation call will take place at the Basilica Recreation Centre beginning at 9:45 am.
Each show consists of team members taking their spin at the Uh Oh! Wheel, where just about anything goes. Categories like Speed Round challenge a contestant's ability to think fast and answer even quicker. Mayhem offers an endless array of gooey stunt challenges, while the ultimate Uh Oh could very well take a contestant into the all encapsulating domain of ... slime.
This is where PEI comes in. The Uh Oh! Slime Tour complements the studio portion of the show by providing up to 15 different competitors per city across Canada. Each location features five different obstacle courses of varying slime magnitude with three competitors per course. Of the three competitors, one will emerge victorious and claim their prize. The pre-taped Slime Tour segments are then integrated into the studio portion of the game, where the studio contestants get the chance to vote for their favourite Slime Tour contestant.
The Uh Oh! Slime Tour has already travelled to Whitehorse, Carcross, Dawson City, Ottawa, Hull, Minden, Mississauga, Ontario Place, Victoria, Banff, Drumheller, Saskatoon and St. Denis. The PEI segment will be taped on August 9 at the Confederation Landing Park.
Children planning to audition to be a contestant must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
