May 5, 2009 * Innovation and Advanced Learning [to May 2015]Tyne Valley resident Anthony Millar was recently awarded the Stephen Dennis Memorial Award of Excellence for his work as the manager of the Community Access Program in Summerside. Millar has worked at the East Prince Youth Development Centre CAP site for 3 years. As a manager, he works with youth, adults and seniors to help them become familiar with computers. “Anthony has demonstrated his skills as a teacher and a strong communicator,” said Allan Campbell, Minister of Innovation and Advanced Learning. “Through CAP sites, we are able to offer rural Islanders programs to teach them how to use computers and Anthony plays an important role helping people feel comfortable coming into the centre to learn how to use computers.” Stephen Dennis was the founder of the Tremploy Cap site in 1998 and was instrumental in developing the state-of-the-art site which caters to clients of Tremploy as well as the general public.
