Trade Team PEI is hosting a Market Information Session on December 2nd at the Rodd Charlottetown, to highlight their upcoming mission to Florida. This session will include Ms. Margaret Cullen, Trade Commissioner with the Consulate General of Canada Office in Miami.
“Our government is committed to supporting the development of small and medium-sized businesses,” said the Honourable Keith Ashfield, Minister of National Revenue, Minister of the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA) and Minister for the Atlantic Gateway. “We want to help them acquire the knowledge, skills and relationships they need in order to compete successfully as exporters in a global marketplace.”
The Market Information Session will be held in the Grafton/Kent rooms at the Rodd Charlottetown Hotel beginning at 11:30 am. The session will provide Island businesses the opportunity to learn more about the multi-sector trade mission to Florida and the support that will be provided to participating companies during their visit to the Sunshine State from January 24 to January 28, 2011.
“The Province looks forward to pursuing these new trade opportunities in Florida,” said Hon. Allan Campbell, Minister of Innovation and Advanced Learning. “Prince Edward Island has been expanding its trade relationship with a number of southern United States, and it has done a lot to keep the Island economy strong in this tough economic climate.”
Trade Team PEI, led by ACOA and Innovation PEI, plays a key role in planning activities and delivering programs that are designed to help small-and medium-sized Island businesses effectively compete as exporters.
Trade Team PEI is a partnership network of federal and provincial government agencies and departments committed to helping PEI-based trade and export-focussed businesses succeed in their pursuit of new global development opportunities.
