People from all over the world were able to enjoy a bit of ECMA magic last weekend, thanks to the live broadcast of ECMA events on the PEI government website. The site (www.gov.pe.ca) featured a special ECMA page. It also offered a live Island Cam broadcast of Radio FreECMA for the duration of the event. Over the four days, the site received 48,000 page accesses for the special ECMA coverage.

"This is truly phenomenal," said Mike Currie, Minister of Development and Technology. "It was a great opportunity to showcase our music industry to the whole world; it's great that it was so well received."

The site had hits from England and many places in the United States, including Idaho, Oregon, New Jersey and Connecticut, as well as thousands of visits from people in Canada. Some visitors wrote to report they kept the ECMA site up all weekend, just to hear Atlantic Canadian music.

The Radio FreECMA broadcast featured live interviews and performances as well as recorded music by a wide range of artists. The Island Cam was also used to broadcast CBC Mainstreet's live performance show on Friday and Atlantic Airwaves on Saturday.
