Testori Job Fair Attracts Over 300 People in West Prince

A job fair held in Bloomfield on Monday attracted over three hundred people, and Alberton Miminegash MLA Cletus Dunn says he couldn't be more pleased. The job fair was held by the West Prince Opportunity Network to gauge interest in employment at the new Testori Americas plant. The plant will be located at the West Prince Business Park. The new facility is currently under construction. When it's completed, it will employ 40 people.

"The level of interest shown on Monday demonstrates the great desire on the part of the people of this area to find full-time, meaningful work," said Mr. Dunn. "It also shows that the investment government has made in this company and this area will have positive, long-term results."

The Province of Prince Edward Island is providing $1 million, with $500,000 directed toward the building's construction costs and another $500,000 for modifications required by tenants. Testori Americas announced in November

that it planned to move to the new facility. In December, Wiebel Aerospace announced that it would also move to Bloomfield. It will employ 15 people, Testori Americas will open in the spring.

The aerospace industry currently employs over 700 people in the province.
