Television Program To Feature Prince Edward Island

This weekend, a new CBC travel show, Travels with Mom, will feature Prince Edward Island. The program will air on Saturday, November 30 at 10:00 am, and again on Thursday, December 5 at 1:00 pm.

The new series, developed by Almadon Productions of Ottawa, follows a family's adventures on a trip across Canada. The pilot for the series was shot on PEI in 1994; and when CBC bought the series, Almadon returned in 1995 to update the footage.

The PEI show is lively and filled with local highlights — deep-sea fishing, gathering Irish Moss and trying out sea kayaking. The family goes to the harness races, visits a french fry plant and the PEI Potato Museum. And the program includes the latest popular family entertainment on PEI — an evening at a ceilidh.
