Take Part in the Prince Edward Island Studio Tour Rally Weekend

Artisans and craftspeople across Prince Edward Island will open their studios and invite you to see them at work as they present hands-on demonstrations. The Department of Development and Technology encourages you to participate in the Island-wide Studio Tour Rally Weekend taking place September 24-26, 2004.

This year over 40 Island craft studios, galleries and shops are open and waiting for your visit, so take advantage of this opportunity and explore the Island through the works of our culturally diverse artists and craftspeople. To customize your own tour, pick up a Studio Tour Rally Map and Guide at any PEI Visitor Information centre. If you prefer to join a guided tour with Prince Edward Tours call (902) 566-5466 to reserve your space.

“The Island is home to many talented artisans and craftspeople,” said the Honourable Michael F. Currie, Minister of Development & Technology. “The Studio Tour Rally Weekend is an opportunity for people to get out and see beautiful Island-made quality products and support the individuals who make up this vibrant industry.

During the Studio Tour Rally Weekend, shoppers will be able to save the Provincial Sales Tax (PST) on Island-made crafts and giftware at participating retailers across Prince Edward Island.

“Islanders and visitors alike can take advantage of unique workshops and studio presentations scheduled to take place this weekend,” said Marie Walsh. “Search for that unforgettable treasure specially designed and created by PEI artisans and craftspeople.”
