Islanders will have unique opportunities on the weekend of October 2nd and 3rd to visit studios throughout the Province. Premier Pat Binns said, "We are extremely pleased to be partnering with our cultural community to offer this excellent opportunity to showcase many talented craftspeople and artisans in this province. The Studio Tour will provide a chance for Islanders and visitors alike to visit almost 80 participating establishments from Alberton to Souris."
The self-guided tour will provide an insight into how the products are created along with demonstrating the tremendous range of hand crafted products that are available throughout our province.
Premier Binns said, "Artists and craftspeople are small businesses that create income and jobs in the PEI economy along with making important contributions to our culture. They are to be commended for their hard work and dedication in building their businesses".
The Honourable Don MacKinnon, Minister of Development adds, "I would encourage Islanders to participate in the Studio Tour on October 2nd and 3rd. This event provides an exciting option during our shoulder season."
Doug Cranford, President of the PEI Crafts Council stated, "We are extremely pleased by the initiative that the province has taken in producing this Studio Tour for the 1999 fall season. We are confident that it will be a great success."
