STRATFORD OVERPASS TO CLOSE STARTING FRIDAY MORNING

* Transportation and Public Works [to Jan 2010]
The provincial Minister of Transportation and Public Works, Ron MacKinley would like to advise motorists that a detour will be set up at the end of this week around a portion of the Trans Canada Highway, Route One, in Stratford. In order to complete the re-construction of the Stratford overpass, the structure will be closed to traffic starting at 9 a.m. Friday, December 7. It will remain closed to traffic until 9 a.m. Monday, December 10, at the latest. The shut-down is required in order to install the new concrete deck.

During the shut-down, outbound traffic will be re-routed onto the Stratford Road, then onto the Kinlock Road and then back onto Route One. Inbound traffic will be re-routed onto the Mason Road, then onto the Bunbury Road, and then onto the Hillsborough Bridge. Detours will be clearly posted. Traffic control personnel will be on-hand during peak times to assist in re-routing traffic.

The Department apologizes for any inconvenience created by the detour.
