Statement from Premier Robert Ghiz on Quebec election

I want to take this opportunity to congratulate Premier-designate Phillipe Couillard on his victory in last night’s Quebec election.

Prince Edward Island has always enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Quebec, and I look forward on continuing to work collaboratively with Mr. Couillard on issues of mutual interests. I also hope to see Mr. Couillard visit Prince Edward Island when we host the annual meeting of Canadian Premiers in late August.

I want to thank Premier Pauline Marois for her contributions to her province and wish her the best in her future endeavours.
