Statement: Premier Robert Ghiz on the Passing of Jack Layton

I was very sorry to hear of the passing of Jack Layton today. Mr. Layton was a highly dedicated public servant who worked very hard on behalf of all Canadians.

Mr. Layton's determination, perseverance and sense of purpose were clear – and his contribution to national political life will be missed.

On behalf of all Islanders, I want to pass on my sincere sympathies to Mr. Layton’s family, friends and colleagues.
