Statement on the passing of Mike Gallant, Miscouche Fire Captain

Statement from Minister of Environment, Labour and Justice and Attorney General Janice Sherry:

“On behalf of the Government of Prince Edward Island, I wish to express sincere condolences to the family and friends of Miscouche Fire Department Captain Mike Gallant. My heart is with the Prince Edward Island firefighting community as they grieve the life of a dear friend and leader. Our volunteer firefighters selflessly dedicate their lives to helping others and on behalf of all Islanders, I extend gratitude to all of the men and women who put their own lives at risk when responding to calls – you are heroes in our communities.”
