July 20, 2010 * Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal [to May 2015]Effective immediately and until further notice the St. Peters Bridge on Route 2 in St. Peters will be reduced to one lane of traffic as crews carry out repairs to the bridge deck. Officials from the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal were notified of damage to the bridge deck earlier today. Repairs will likely take about three weeks to complete. There is no word yet on what caused the damage, but the bridge deck was scheduled to be replaced by the Department during the 2011 construction season. In the meantime, crews will install traffic control signals at each end of the bridge to allow one lane to proceed at a time. Those traffic controls will remain in place until repairs are complete.
