Second Round of Funding Announced for IT Generation Program

* Development and Technology [to Apr 2008]
Communities interested in receiving a grant of $2300 to provide information technology tools to their youth are invited to participate in the IT Generation program.

The program's objective is to provide the means for young people to spread information about issues of interest to them, through the use of technology. One of the program's objectives is to establish permanent IT clubs in communities across the province. A provincial IT Generation program web site will be produced and participants will be encouraged to complete web sites of their own.

In the first round of funding, the following six community organizations received grants: Vernon River Allied Youth, East Prince Youth Development Center, O'Leary Community Youth Center, Wellington Boys & Girls Club, Westisle CAP, and W.E.A.K Online club from Tignish CAP.

Selection of successful bids will be judged in a competitive process. Deadline for funding is January 17, 2001. Digital Innovations (Level II CAP Site in Tignish) is delivering the program on behalf of Technology PEI.
