Royal Tour traffic advisory from City of Summerside

The following was published by the City of Summerside on July 2, 2011:

Residents and visitors to Summerside are advised that Harbour Drive, east of the Harbour Quay entrance to the traffic lights at Water Street and Harbour Drive, will be restricted to vehicular traffic beginning at 12:01 a.m. Monday, July 4.

Holman's Wharf and the Transport Canada wharf will be closed. Queen's Wharf will be available to the public to view the visit.

The only restricted parking areas will be on the closed portion of Harbour Drive and those parking areas south of the closed area.

Downtown Summerside will be open for business. Sharkey's Restaurant and Arsenault's Fish Market will be open for business for pedestrian customers.

The City of Summerside is suggesting those looking for parking for the royal visit to park outside of the downtown area and walk down due to the heavy traffic that will be expected downtown. Credit Union Place and Three Oaks Senior High's parking lots are two of the suggested areas.
