June 23, 2003 * Tourism [to Jan 2010]Prince Edward Island's new "Come Home to the Island" tourism promotion was given an extra boost last week by Rodney Clark of Rodney's Oyster House in Toronto. The former Islander is one of the province's biggest promoters and he was pleased to place the posters in a prominent location in his restaurant. As with many Islanders living "away," Rodney is always keen to get back for a visit, and he is happy to share that sentiment with the many patrons of his establishment. On hand to help with the promotion in Toronto were well-known "Islanders living away," Don Harron and Catherine McKinnon. To date, the promotion has attracted a lot of attention on-Island and in the rest of Canada, and both the phones and Web site have been busy with entries from people requesting Prince Edward Island Visitors Guides and hoping to win the prize trip.
