The Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC) held their 2005 annual meeting in Quebec City last week and Rodd Hotels and Resorts captured one of their most prestigious awards - The APR Media Ltd. Business of the Year Award - Multiple Unit.

The national association is a private sector advocate for Canada’s $57.7 billion tourism industry. “Canada owes its tourism success to the people and organizations that have created some of the best products, services and experiences in the world,” noted Randy Williams, President and CEO of TIAC. “That success translates into jobs, regional economic development opportunities, tax revenues and an enhanced quality of life for all Canadians. This awards program is an opportunity to give Canada’s tourism industry the recognition it so richly deserves.”

Minister of Tourism for PEI, Honourable Philip Brown, who was present for the awards ceremony noted, “This is the type of accolade that broadens the appreciation of our tourism industry partners.” He added, “Rodd Hotels and Resorts management has done an excellent job and easily deserves this recognition from their peers across the nation. I’d like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Rodd management, and of course the Rodd family, for their unwavering dedication to the industry and for the award presented.”
