November 15, 2013 Islanders can now contribute to support those impacted by Typhoon Haiyan at all 18 PEI Liquor Control Commission corporate retail outlets across the province. Donations will be accepted until December 1, 2013 in support of the Canadian Red Cross in its efforts to provide relief to the Philippines. “Islanders have shown their generosity in the past and are ready to help those in times of need,” said Hon. Robert Henderson, minister responsible for the PEI Liquor Control Commission. “The PEI Liquor Control Commission and its staff are proud to be collection points for those wishing to help those impacted by this disaster.” The PEILCC has been a collection point during similar fundraising efforts which supported disaster relief efforts for Haiti in 2010 and later for Japan in 2011. Official tax receipts can be issued for donations of $20 or more.Media Contact: James MacLeod
