Public consultation on new Early Learning and Child Care Act

The public is invited to a meeting to provide input on the new Early Learning and Child Care Act.

Experts from the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development will be on hand to provide information and answer questions regarding the Act.

Tonight’s consultation meeting will be offered in both French and English and everyone is invited to attend to learn more about the Act and provide input into the creation of the Act.

The meeting will take place November 17, 2010, 4 to 8 p.m. at the Charlottetown Hotel, 75 Kent Street, Charlottetown.

The Early Learning and Child Care Act has been created in response to the development of the Preschool Excellence Initiative. As a modernization of the early childhood sector has begun by ensuring equitable access across the province to quality early learning and childcare programs, there is also a need to modernize the act that governs this sector.
