Provincial Volunteer Conference

The Department of Community and Cultural Affairs is sponsoring a provincial conference for volunteers and volunteer-based organizations in Prince Edward Island on Saturday, November 17, 2001, at the Slemon Park Inn.

"2001 is the International Year of Volunteers and, as we near the end of the year, I believe that it is important to build on the momentum achieved throughout the year and bring volunteers and volunteer organizations together to plan for the future," says Gail A. Shea, Minister responsible for the International Year of Volunteers in PEI.

Guest speakers and workshops at the conference will focus on the three R's: Retain, Recruit and Recognize. Topics to be covered include: recruitment, challenges and change in volunteer organizations.
