The Provincial Government Employee United Way Campaign has raised $129,720.69 exceeding the goal of $125,000 established in September. This total represents the highest amount raised in the history of the provincial government employee campaign.

"The participation in this year's campaign has been overwhelming," said Leonard Cusack, Chair of the Provincial Government United Way Campaign. "The goal of the campaign has moved from $117,000 to $125,000 over the last year. The final tally of close to $130,000 certainly demonstrates a true spirit of generosity among provincial government employees."

Proceeds from the Campaign were collected through traditional payroll deductions. In addition, special events, including a barbeque, pancake breakfast, raffles, casual days and a Dress Up Day to celebrate Halloween, contributed almost $3,000 to the campaign goal.

The United Way of Prince Edward Island provides funding to 24 agencies in communities across the province.
