Provincial Fire Marshal's Office Issues Warning

The Fire Marshal's Office of Prince Edward Island is issuing the following warning regarding a potential safety hazard of a product that has been available for sale in Prince Edward Island.

Underwriters Laboratories Inc. (UL) has notified the Fire Marshal's Office that certain models of Philips brand drip style counter top coffee makers may present a fire hazard. These coffee makers are manufactured by Ever Splendor Enterprises Co. Ltd., Taiwan, for Philips Electronics Ltd., Scarborough Canada. These coffee makers can be identified by model numbers HD 5260, HD 5270, HL 5286 and HL 5330. The company name "Philips" appears on the product and packaging.

The Fire Marshal's Office of Prince Edward Island encourages consumers to immediately discontinue use of these coffee makers and return them to Philips Electronics Ltd.
