Provincial Cabinet Visits Tignish

Premier's Office
The Provincial Cabinet will be spending today in Tignish as part of the ongoing visits to communities across the Province.

The Cabinet will take part in the official opening of the Tignish Cultural Centre/Access PEI site at 10:00 am. Following that there will be a meeting with the Tignish Village Commission and development groups from the area. The regular Cabinet meeting will be held in the afternoon at the Heritage Inn.

Tignish is celebrating its bicentennial, and Premier Binns says that is one of the reasons they wanted to visit the community. "We are making an effort to keep in direct contact with communities and meet the groups that are working to foster development and help communities grow. Tignish celebrating its bicentennial means an added opportunity to join in some of the celebrations and support the work being done to mark this historic occasion."

The Cabinet has visited about a dozen communities to date.
