June 4, 2001 Premier's OfficeAs has been the practice since they were first elected in 1996, Premier Pat Binns and his cabinet will continue meeting in communities outside of Charlottetown during the summer and fall months. Tomorrow, the cabinet will convene at the O'Leary Community Council chambers. This is the second occasion the Binns cabinet has met in O'Leary since 1998. "I am glad we have reached the time of year to again initiate our out-of-town meetings. Much of our decision-making at the cabinet table draws from these types of consultations," said Premier Binns. Cabinet will conduct its regular weekly business until 10:45 a.m., at which time it will then convene with the O'Leary Community Council. Meetings with Resources West and the O'Leary and Area Development Corporation will follow. Eva Rodgerson, MLA for West Point-Bloomfield, will be present for the meetings with local groups. "We value the opportunity to sit down with community leaders to discuss issues of mutual interest. Clearly, this is a foremost example of how we gather input from communities," said the Premier.Media Contact: Patrick Dorsey
