Provincial Cabinet to meet in Mount Stewart

Premier's Office
The Provincial Cabinet is in Mount Stewart today as part of Premier Pat Binns' commitment to have his government interact regularly with communities across Prince Edward Island.

In addition to conducting their regular weekly meeting, the Provincial Cabinet, along with local MLA Mildred Dover, will convene with five different organizations from the area to discuss issues of mutual interest.

"As a government we feel a responsibility to meet face-to-face with community leaders and representatives," stated the Premier. "It's a positive way to build relationships and keep the lines of communication open."

Proceedings will be conducted at the Mount Stewart Village Commission Office. Following its regular meeting, the Cabinet will greet representatives of: the Abegweit First Nations, the Tracadie Community Council, Fort Augustus, Mt. Albion and Hazelbrook, and the Mount Stewart Village Commission.

"We have a busy schedule for the day, but I look forward to some informative discussion with community representatives," said the Premier.

Since 1997, the Binns' Cabinet has met with more than 30 community organizations in approximately 20 different communities across the Island.
