The continued support of Atlantic Lottery as an Official Team sponsor for Team PEI is greatly appreciated, says Minister of Health and Wellness Doug Currie.

“The Province of Prince Edward Island has been proud to have Atlantic Lottery as a partner of Team PEI for many years,” said Minister Currie. “It takes many dedicated volunteers, staff and sponsors to ensure that our team is ready. Thank you to Atlantic Lottery and all of our Team PEI sponsors for your assistance to help prepare Team PEI for the 2013 Canada Games in Sherbrooke, Quebec.”

“Atlantic Lottery is absolutely honoured to support Team Prince Edward Island athletes,” said Michael MacKinnon, Managing Director for Red Shores. “The commitment, determination and passion that these young athletes display during the Games extends far beyond the playing field; the future of Atlantic Canada will be bright with them at the helm.”

Atlantic Lottery’s commitment to the Canada Games teams of the four Atlantic Provinces spans more than three decades. This year, Atlantic Lottery has donated $20,000 to Team PEI.

“The Canada Games is the largest multi-sport competition for young Canadian athletes and a wonderful opportunity for our Island athletes to experience world-class athletic achievement,” said John Morrison, Chair of the Provincial Canada Games Committee. “Win or lose, Team PEI has worked hard to prepare for the Games, and we are extremely proud of their efforts and look forward to cheering them on in Sherbrooke.”

For the 2013 Games, Team PEI is made up of 232 athletes, 59 coaches, managers and support staff and 15 Mission Staff members for a total delegation of 306. For more information on Team PEI and to follow their progress at the Games, visit www.teampei.ca.
