Province offers support to the Philippines

Premier Robert Ghiz extended support today to the people of the Philippines and announced that Prince Edward Island would contribute $25,000 to the Red Cross to assist in relief efforts.

“Many Islanders have made and continue to make contributions to these efforts, and this will offer another opportunity to give to the people of the Philippines in this difficult time,” Premier Ghiz said.

“We extend our deepest sympathies to those who have lost their loved ones and our thoughts go to those who are trying to survive the aftermath of this terrible storm,” said Premier Ghiz.
