Province Extends Condolences to the Family of Dr. Gordon Lea

Premier Pat Binns expressed condolences today on behalf of the Province to the family of the late Dr. Gordon Lea. "Dr. Lea's contribution to our community over his lifetime was extraordinary," said the Premier. "Through his dedication to the medical profession, his family and his community, he has made a lasting contribution that only few have done. We express our deepest regrets to the Lea family."

Health and Social Services Minister Jamie Ballem advised that the medical community is saddened by the loss of Dr. Lea. "Highly respected by his patients and his peers, Dr. Lea achieved his many accomplishments in a very quiet way, remaining dedicated almost to the end as he visited patients in nursing homes. He will be remembered as a dedicated physician and a leader in the medical community, an active parent and supporter of the education system, and a friend who shared a passion for gardening. He will be deeply missed."
