Program Features Organic Garlic Production

This week's Focus on Resources cable television program will feature a special on the production of organic garlic in Prince Edward Island. Focus on Resources is produced by the Department of Agriculture and Forestry and airs each Tuesday evening on Cable 10 at 7:30.

The feature on organic garlic production will look at the production practices used by growers Mel Gass and Raymond Loo. Both have been successfully producing garlic using organic methods for a number of years.

Also on this week's program is a report on Environmental Farm Plans. Dr. Les Halliday and farmer Kevin Jewell will offer practical insights about the benefits of making farms more environmentally-friendly.

Winner of the 1997 Galaxi Award for Excellence in Programming, Focus on Resources features the latest news and information about Island agriculture, forestry, fishing and the environment. It is hosted by former CBC anchor Gerry Birt.
