Recent nominations for election to the Prince Edward Island Potato Board have resulted in three producers being elected by acclamation for seed, tablestock, and processor grower positions on the board.
In the East District, Boyd Rose, Elmira, has been elected to the seed producer position. Morley Wood, Albany, was elected to the table stock producer position for the Central District. In the West District, David Harris, O'Leary, has been elected to the processing producer position.
The Prince Edward Island Potato Board consists of nine members, consisting of one seed producer, one table stock producer, and one processing producer from each district. Members are elected to three-year terms with the positions being staggered with respect to region and sector representation.
The new directors will begin their terms following the annual meeting of the Potato Board in September.
