Prince Edward Island Represented at Canadian Food and Beverage Show

Prince Edward Island companies are exploring business opportunities at the largest food and beverage show in Canada this week.

Government and industry representatives are attending the Canadian Food and Beverage Show and Hostex 2008 in Toronto March 2 - 4. The showcase is dedicated exclusively to suppliers of food and beverage products for the hospitality and retail grocery industries. The Honourable Richard Brown, Minister of Development and Technology Minister, is leading the Prince Edward Island delegation.

“The Government of Prince Edward Island is proud to partner with the business community to explore new markets,” said Minister Brown. “With the rise of the Canadian dollar and increased global competition, businesses have to work hard to maintain markets and sign new contracts. Events such as the Canadian Food and beverage Show allow our companies to promote products and services to buyers from around the world.”

Prince Edward Island companies attending the Canadian Food and Beverage Show include Hardy Soy Ltd., Duinkerken Foods and Juicy Cool (Urban Pouch Pack). The PEI Potato Board and the PEI Food Technology Centre are also represented.

The Canadian Food and Beverage Show is taking place at the Direct Energy Centre, Exhibition Place in Toronto, Ontario. It attracts approximately 10,000 buyers and sellers from the hospitality and grocery industries.
