Prince Edward Island Legislative Assembly to open April 4, 2012

Premier Robert Ghiz announced today that the First Session of the Sixty-fourth General Assembly of the Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island will be prorogued at the end of March and the Second Session will officially open on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at 2 p.m. The highlight of Opening Day will be the Speech from the Throne, to be delivered by the Honourable H. Frank Lewis, Lieutenant Governor, shortly after 2 p.m.

The public is welcome to attend the opening and view the proceedings from the Public Gallery. It will also be broadcast live on Eastlink Television and streamed on the Assembly’s website at www.assembly.pe.ca.

The first day of regular Legislative Assembly business (including question period) is scheduled for Tuesday, April 10 beginning at 2 p.m.
