The Prince Edward Island Beer Festival, produced by the Prince Edward Island Brewing Company, will take place September 6 - 7, 2013. This revamped event, part of the Fall Flavours Festival, will be focussed on educating visitors and Islanders alike on the art and craft of brewing and tasting beer. The festival will feature over 75 beers, VIP packages, food pairings and late night entertainment on the beautiful Charlottetown waterfront. “The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission is pleased to see this event included in the Fall Flavours Festival,” said Hon. Robert Henderson, minister responsible for the PEI Liquor Control Commission. “The Prince Edward Island Beer Festival will offer its guests the opportunity to experience a variety of products through education, sampling and food pairing.”
The Festival kicks off with a tasting session on Friday from 6 - 9 p.m. ($40) and will feature two tasting sessions on Saturday, the first from 2 - 5 p.m. ($30) and then later from 6 - 9 p.m. ($40). Guests attending the 6 - 9 p.m. tasting sessions will also receive free admission to the late night entertainment, taking place at the Charlottetown Event Grounds. Tickets to attend the late night entertainment only, taking place each evening from 9 p.m.- 1 a.m., will be available for $20 each. Late night entertainment will be announced very soon!
The Prince Edward Island Beer Festival is also offering VIP packages including special programming at the PEI Brewing Company from 4 - 6 p.m. before each evening’s tastings sessions ($99). The PEI Brewing Company will provide you with a behind the scenes tour of the brewery, guided by our brewers themselves giving you opportunity to seek out any hidden recipes and techniques! The brewers will be in the hot seat, ready to answer all of your beer and brewery questions. There will be complimentary food and beer-pairing treats inspired by our Island brews and a merchandise gift pack to take home. Transportation on our PEI Brewing Company shuttle will be provided to the event grounds just in time for the start of the 6 p.m. tasting session.
