* Tourism [to Jan 2010]
A fresh new name and application form has brought a renewed vigour to the Prince Edward Island Acadian Product Development Program. The program provides financial assistance for the promotion and development of the Acadian and Francophone tourism product on Prince Edward Island, administered through Tourism PEI.

There are two components to the program. The first component provides marketing assistance to non-profit community tourism groups to encourage the development of unique and innovative concepts to keep visitors longer in Island communities. Activities might include information packages or kits, participation in tourism trade fairs, brochures, ads, Web pages, etc. The second component provides assistance for non-profit community groups to plan, organize and promote new and existing festivals and tourism events.

The implementation of this financial assistance program for the promotion and development of the Acadian and Francophone tourism product on PEI is made possible through the Canada-Prince Edward Island General Agreement on the Promotion of Official Languages, and implementation is partnered between Tourism PEI and the Department of Development and Technology.

Interested parties can obtain application forms by contacting Marcel Bernard at (902) 854-7250. Applications for the 2004 season must be received by March 1, 2004.
