February 2, 2004 The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission announces that, effective February 1, 2004, there will be a price reduction on all wines priced over $11.25. The average percentage reduction is 7.5%. “The Liquor Control Commission has worked hard to become a customer-focussed retailer which successfully balances profitability and social responsibility,” said Mike Currie, Minister Responsible for the PEI Liquor Control Commission. “This price decrease reflects customer demand and the realities of today’s marketplace.” The price decrease for wine will enable the Commission to provide wines at prices that are competitive with neighbouring provinces.Media Contact: Wayne MacDougall
