The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission announces the retail price of domestic beer will increase effective May 1, 2005. The new retail price for beer will increase to $18.80 per dozen - an increase of $0.55 per dozen over last year. Included in the retail price is the $1.20 empty bottle refund.
The Brewers requested this price increase as a result of experiencing substantial inflationary pressure on costs.
The beer manufacturers have increased their prices on March 1st to the other Maritime Provinces.
The Commission has also made minor changes to wine and spirits as a result of freight and manufacturers adjustments.
To review these price changes, please visit the Commission’s Price List which can be found on its website at www.peilcc.ca.
