Price increase

The Prince Edward Island Liquor Control Commission announced today that the price of domestic beer will increase effective May 1, 1999. The new retail price for beer will increase to $16.15 per dozen, an increase of $0.25 per dozen over last year. Included in the price is the $1.20 empty bottle refund.

This increase is the result of a manufacturer's increase to the Commission. The Commission has passed this increase through to the final retail price without taking any additional profit.

Maritime Beer Company products will remain the same with no increases. Both N.B. and N.S. increased their retail prices earlier in the year.
