Premiers' Gallery

Premier's Office
The fifth floor of the Shaw Building will be the site of a photographic tribute to the Premiers of Prince Edward Island on Wednesday, August 18 at 1:00 p.m., Executive Council Chambers.

Directly outside the office of Premier Binns, the normally white walls will now be adorned with photos of 36 Premiers that have dedicated themselves to serving the people of Prince Edward Island. As a final event of the Canada 125 Celebrations, every Premier since Confederation will be honoured in what will be know as "The Premier's Gallery."

"I feel it will be a heartwarming display of the men and women that have devoted so much of themselves to governing our province," noted Premier Binns. "I am delighted to be a part of the presentation. It provides a visual connection to the history of our Island and the political history that brings us to where we are today."

Premier Binns and former Island Premiers will be on hand to pay tribute to their counterparts along with family and friends of the many Premiers of our Island. Many of the family of Premiers now deceased, will be in attendance.

Everyone is invited to join in on this dedication and celebration of the leaders of our Province and there will be free access to view the photographs at any time thereafter, bringing a part of our past into our present.
