Premier Recognizes Centenarians

Premier's Office
Tomorrow, Premier Pat Binns will present six centenarians with a special certificate which will recognize their contributions to the Province of Prince Edward Island over the last three centuries.

Earlier this year, Premier Binns presented seventeen certificates to centenarians and/or family representatives at a ceremony held at Government House. As six distinguished citizens were unable to attend, their certificates will be presented tomorrow at either the home of a family member or the nursing home at which they reside. The names of the deserving individuals are: Eva Arsenault, Nora Buote, Annie M. Richard, Sadie Mae Gorrill, Arthur Millard Getson and Ernest MacPherson.

Each of the above mentioned citizens have assisted in preserving and enhancing the way of life that makes our Island, and its people, so special. These centenarians have created the "Island Way of Life" with their ideas, principals, and hard work.

Premier Pat Binns stated: "It is indeed a privilege to take part in this ceremony which recognizes these special people."
